Data Modeling: Develop, document and maintain logical and physical data models that accurately reflect the existing environment and update for new projects/enhancements. Work with DBA and other staff as necessary, to instantiate physical databases based on the models. 2. Metadata Capture and Management: Capture, rationalize, document and manage metadata in order to facilitate reduced data redundancy and duplication, provide a better understanding of the data environment and facilitate the reduction of data inconsistencies. 3. Model Management: Version and configuration manage data models so that they are consistent with development testing and production deployment environments. 4. Information Dissemination: Publish models and metadata in the form of web pages, graphics and reports to projects, management and other interested parties in order to raise the organizational knowledge of what data exists where. 5. Cross-Organizational Coordination: Interface with business units, internal IT, customers and management in the performance of duties. *Competencies/Skills:* · Logical and Physical Data Modeling in diverse technical environments and industries. · Familiarity through use with metadata capture and management. · Familiarity through use with disciplined project management structures and systems development lifecycle. · Familiarity through use with the complete solution development life cycle. · Excellent non-technical communication (written and verbal) skills at all levels of the organization. · Creative problem-solving skills. · Ability to work independently or as part of a project team. · Ability to self-management tasks to meet delivery targets. · Ability to indirectly lead though influencing others. · Expert-level data sourcing and data mapping skills. *Knowledge:* · Multi-line Insurance domain knowledge · Relational concepts · Data Warehouse concepts · ETL concepts · Proficient in data modeling tools -- preferably Erwin. · Strong RDBMS knowledge. · Metadata management software suites.
