Job Title: Application Architect Location: Alpharetta,GA Duration: Contract to hire *Must be : EAD/GC / Citizen* *Major Position Responsibilities:* - Be responsible for creating or selecting the most appropriate architecture for end-to-end solution and/or a system (or systems) within the solution, such that it suits the business needs, satisfies stakeholder requirements, and achieves the desired results under given constraints. - Ability to understand, analyze, decompose & size business requirements and develop a sustainable and implement-able architecture roadmap is essential. The leadership capability of advising the stakeholders for better outcome is highly desirable - Maintain control over the architecture lifecycle interconnected with the project’s software development lifecycle. He or she must proactively monitor the adherence of the implementation to the chosen architecture during all iterations - Work closely with project managers and business stakeholders to explain the benefits and justify the investment in application architecture of a solution. Application architects must be effective in order to deliver results that are meaningful to the projects and program goals - Act as an agent of change in driving architecture transformation from legacy environments towards a highly scalable, robust and extensible framework and services. Inspire, mentor and encourage colleagues to apply fundamental software engineering mindset and best practices - Create and distribute proper views of architecture designs to appropriate stakeholders at appropriate intervals and abstraction levels *Qualifications * - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field - Five (5) or more years of experience as a Software Architect in an enterprise-class setting; direct experience in creating enterprise software architectures and multi-tier applications along the complete software development process; proven success in enterprise level of architecture design for Web-based applications; database applications; and portal applications; - 8+ years experience with C, C++, SOA, Java, J2EE, real industry project experience in software engineering practice; Experience with software/architecture and integration patterns as well as knowledge of modern development frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate - Strong software analysis and design skills and experience using software development lifecycle methodologies; Design for scale, Design for Change and Design for HA are essential criteria.
