System is used to schedule workload for nursing staff and case workers. Various factors are considered, including availability, skills required, disease condition, target dates, risk prioritization and others. Rules change very frequently and are executed several times each day to optimize work assignments. System is based on SAS, but needs to be re-engineered to use additional factors and weights. Part of this assignment is to make recommendations to improve both the data flows and the algorithms used by the optimization engine. Target technology for this system is Hadoop and GreenPlum. Data Science tools such as R and Python can be used for optimization. Candidate must be able to speak and write in a very clear, concise and understandable manner.
