The QA Engineer will report to the QA Manager. The focus of the QA Engineer will be to ensure all changes to our applications are tested adequately. The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring test plans and test cases follow all standards and are appropriate on a project by project basis. The QA Engineer is responsible for using all test management tools according to standard. *KEY SKILLS: * - Experience with financial markets and basic trading knowledge (series 7 a plus) Experience with online trading and/or different online trading platforms - Solid understanding of financial instruments (equity, mutual funds, options, futures/forex trading) - Solid understanding of different types of market data and research tools a plus - Ability to work in a fast paced delivery environment - Experience with Quality Center, ALM, Jira Basic Programming skills with Java programming knowledge a plus - Experience with different automation frameworks Strong SQL knowledge *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * - Creation and modification of test plans. - Participation in peer reviews of test plans and test cases Identify risks and prepare mitigation plans Assist QA and Release Leads in preparing implementation timelines Develop Test Data Strategy Assist QA Leads in determining appropriate test environments Work with business analysts to ensure business requirements are adequate Create test cases according to standards ' manual and automated - Perform problem solving and root cause analysis when defects occur Update Quality Center/ALM requirement traceability, test cases, test sets and defects according to QA standards - Engage application development in defect resolution Participate on continuous improvement efforts within the QA organization Support and provide constructive feedback on existing processes and standards Research and evaluate new testing technologies and tools Become technically competent in all technologies used by Application Development organizations - Evaluate and recommend process or technical changes to partner organizations Use positive influence to engage EPM and business partners - Provide guidance around automation strategies, working with the QA Architect and App/Dev *QUALIFICATIONS: * - Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience (academic or direct experience, including best practices) in the IT field. - Demonstrates a solid understanding product lifecycles as well as how technical systems work and interact - Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving/decision making skills - Must be very detail oriented Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidance Sense of urgency and commitment to providing the best support possible to both internal and external clients - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates in the organization well as solid facilitation skills Must possess a basic understanding of how various systems and applications interact Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required Financial services experience strongly preferred Ability to resolve issues in a timely manner - Superior client service skills Ability to prioritize workload in an effective manner Effective listening skills - Technical/Functional Skills, Problem Solving, Decision Quality, Action Oriented, Communication Skills, Developing Direct Reports and Others, Process Management, Conflict Management Thanks and Regards, Syed Layeeq New York Technology Partners – Rochester 332 Jefferson Rd.
