Description: 
The Senior Infrastructure Java developer is a hands-on implementer who uses 
Java-based technologies to code and configure utility applications, generic 
integration patterns, and identity solutions with guidance from a tech lead 
or software architect. Design, Code and unit-test functionality in Java and 
related technologies. Develop generic implementations of integration patterns, 
write “glue code” critical to the customization and connectivity of core 
infrastructure 
applications (e-mail, directory, calendar, etc.) Support and expand the process 
to integrate identity and access information from data stores and applications 
using direct and custom connections. 
Create and document functional/technical designs and test plans for proposed 
solutions. Adhere to and contribute to development and integration standards, 
best practices, and related deliverables. Provide Level 3 support for 
authentication 
solutions. 
Essential Duties: 
1. Develop, testing and implement new IAM Software features using Java and 
other related technologies including Sailpoint Identity IQ, Shibboleth, CAS, 
Grouper. 
2. Design and develop REST/SOAP Web Services using current tools and 
methodologies. 
3. Play a senior role in the collaborative analysis, design, and development 
of new and existing Java applications. 
4. Create and maintain data and API integrations leveraging CA SOA Gateway 
and API portal (Layer 7), Talend, Webmethods, PL-SQL - and other data and 
process 
integration technologies.
5. Work as part of a self-organizing team using Agile methodology. 
6. Actively participate in creating and evolving standards and best practices 
for our development process. 
7. Work with other team members to drive architecture, development, testing, 
and deployment standards within the team and larger enterprise. 
8. Interact with stakeholders helping them to define, implement and use service 
enabled processes. 
9. Assist and mentor team with architecting and developing applications 
leveraging 
cloud technology. 
Required Education and Experience: 
1. Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of experience Java development, 
Architecture 
and design patterns. 
2. Extensive experience developing Java applications and in depth knowledge 
of java frameworks Spring or JSF. 
3. Extensive experience implementing and wiring Web Services in a Java 
environment 
using standard libraries such as JAXB, JAX-RS and JAX-WS. 
4. Experience developing unit tests, integration tests and automated testing 
using tools like JUnit or JMeter. 
5. Experience with SVN, Maven, Ant and continuous integration with Jenkins. 
6. Experience with Relational Databases especially Oracle and SQL Server. 
7. Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) preferred. 
8. Experience securing web services preferred. 
9. Experience with front end UI development with HTML, CSS, bootstrap, J-Query 
and JavaScript preferred. 
10. Knowledge of Sailpoint Identity IQ, Layer7 SOA Gateway, Grouper, Data 
Integration 
Tools (Talend or WebMethods) preferred. 
Skills and Abilities: 
1. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. 
2. Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns 
3. Strong desire to work with team to adopt Agile best practices including 
time boxed sprints, frequent refactoring, continuous integration and test 
driven 
development. 
4. Proven ability to design and develop enterprise applications. 
5. Proven experience mentoring others. 
6. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. 
7. Must be a fast learner with a strong desire and motivation to learn about 
Yale and the higher education environment. 
8. Familiarity with UML artifacts (class, sequence diagrams, etc.) 
9. Experienced in Agile Development Methodology. 
10. Must be highly adaptable to perform in a fast paced environment.
