Below are the job details for your reference: Job Title: Network Engineer Location: Minneapolis, MN Duration: 6-12 months **Preferred Local Candidates** Description: We are looking for a person who is talented, friendly, and smart, detail oriented, a self-starter, and has a strong desire to succeed. The right individual will have strong ethical values, be committed to client service, work both independently and in a team environment, be able to listen to customer needs, ability to document all work effectively, and implement solutions based on industry best practices. Must have good communication skills and be able to interact with all levels of staff, management and client personnel. This job position demands, and we expect, high octane A-team players. Project and Operational Support duties: · Extensive experience working with multiple vendors and multi-platforms in an outsourced environment is mandatory. · Experience with Cisco data center · Must be available for weekend, evening and on call work if required · Complete technical assessments of infrastructure design related to project requirements and then be able to give specific direction to the outsourcing partners to implement changes. · Provide follow up support for any portion of the Network, as needed, after project migrations. · Collaborate across the Telecom, Security, Midrange, Data Center and Application teams to deliver network services on schedule and with high quality. · Mentor other staff members during the project and migration of services. · Responsible for delivery of excellence in products, process, and infrastructure management. · Accountable for following and executing Change Management processes and other operational processes including Service Acceptance Criteria and Operational Readiness requirements. · Proficiency in providing tier 2 support after project completion. Strategy & Innovation duties: · Help plan and deliver a methodology to ensure a smooth project execution and handoff to the Life cycle team. · Collaborate with network architects on network optimization. · Have working knowledge of latest developments in network technology, including new products and services. Requirements and Skills: · Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology field or equivalent work experience. · Demonstrated successful leadership skills within a large project initiative. · Minimum certification of CCNP or higher. · Experience with Cisco routers, VOIP, Firewalls, Network Management Systems and Wireless infrastructure technologies. · Knowledge of Switches, Routers, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, UDP, QoS, VOIP · Must demonstrate advanced understanding of TCP/IP including layer 2/3 VLANs and routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP · Advanced troubleshooting skills, including the ability to capture and analyst packet level data (i.e. Wireshark). And must be an expert with network systems management monitoring tools such as the latest version of Prime, SolarWinds, NetScout, Netflow, TAPs, and SPANs · Knowledge of network routing switching protocols, multicast and QoS protocols, hands on experience with Cisco Nexus switches · Excellent verbal communication and written skills with the ability to clearly document and communicate plans, designs and project direction to peers and other departments. Also possess a strong ability to communicate effectively with management. Excellent time management, problem solving and decision making skills.
