*"Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer"* *Long term contract* * Location – Reston, VA* Candidates Expected to perform leadership activities that bridge the gap between development and production operations support. This engineer needs to develop, document, integrate, and implement new technologies and custom solutions with a focus on performance monitoring (using tools like Zabbix, Optier, Splunk) , supporting Infrastructure services (like Sendmail, SFTP, DNS, and NTP), and have a good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS traffic, Chef or Puppet Automation, and Splunk development is a plus. You must troubleshoot technical issues related to all aspects of the infrastructure (Network, Storage, F5, Apache web server, Java/Ruby applications, and database skills are a plus. They must have an interest in automating repeatable processes, and offer training and documentation to the team and other supporting departments. This individual will be expected to proactively analyze our environments (for risks to stability, performance, & capacity), and provide recommendations to meet current and future growth. They must be able to work in a fast paced, high demand environment, and be team oriented. The person applying must demonstrate proficiency in the specific areas outlined in Duties and Requirements detail. Active Public Trust or greater Security Clearance, listed in JPAS, strongly desired. *Job Duties include:* Linux System Administration with experience in advanced Storage and Network troubleshooting. Performance Monitoring Expert knowledge in HTTP Headers, HTTPS load balancing, and web transactions. Monitoring and optimizing performance for various services (i.e. apache, jboss, tomcat), OS resources(memory, cpu, disk io), and platforms (Load balancers, Xen, Vmware, Monsoon, UCS, HP) Researching, developing, and implementing new tools and processes to improve and automate Operational Support Maintaining OS system security standards, host and client access, and automating required audits Acting in a technical leadership capacity to drive challenging projects across different organizational departments Create detailed technical documentation and provide Training to other entry and intermediate team members Perform L4 functions in the following: HCM Suite: BizX, LMS, WFA/WFP, OpTier Technical & Audit Projects Operations Technical Management Sr. Systems Administration – Entire landscape Oracle – DBA (secondary to prime and overlapping) MS SQL – DBA (secondary to prime and overlapping) DBA - Audits/Sec/Infra Storage Network - F5 Network - Cisco AS Network - Cisco UCS, Fiber InterConnect, Bare metal Servers Network - Juniper FW/RSA , Versastream Data Access Switches Storage - EMC SAN, NetApp NAS, DataDomain Servers- Cisco UCS, Console, Email Gateways, NIDS Security CM Reporting - Customer/Monthly (L4 Technical Support) Security Compliance & Risk Management *Required Qualifications:* B.S.
