Title:Unix and windows Administrator (SME) Location : Minneapolis, MN Duration: 6+ months Job Description: ' Provides server access by maintaining user accounts and file permissions. ' Analyzes activity and tests servers and capabilities. ' Responds to, prevents, and reports attacks on the system and applies security patches as necessary. ' Plans, designs, develops, tests, and implements activities including systems applications development and technical management to support customer needs. ' Performs system administration functions and is primarily responsible for the operations and maintenance of servers needed by users, which requires an in-depth knowledge of server operating systems, specifically Microsoft Windows, UNIX products ' Participates as a team member on installation and customer projects with responsibility for evaluating and recommending hardware/software solutions as requested. ' Installs software, performs system configuration, executes commands to permit system communications, repartitions hard disks, creates and monitors file systems, executes procedures to back up and restore data, and adds or deletes users. ' Provides briefings and instructions to functional personnel upon implementation of system changes. ' Responds to abnormal termination of jobs, attempting to identify and resolve problems. ' Familiar with Server operating system and Server Internet Information servers (IIS). ' Familiar with other protocol such as DNS, HTTPS and other Army enterprise protocols.
