But they should know all of the types of docs, and processes that a BA does. Personality is key....the right candidate will come off as energetic, friendly and personable in a extroverted way (not quiet and reserved). Though they must know when to turn it off, that is, when to push and when not to. Second, they must be clear and concise in their answers. You can pick this out when they quickly and accurately answer your questions and you don't have to restate or probe them more to get the answer you are looking for. Another way to think about it, is when you ask them questions about their previous projects, if you can say to yourself, hey that candidate really had a methodical organized plan of attack, then you know you have a match.
