Second round onsite required* *Client: BWC* Position Description: Client is looking for a Programmer 5 to act as a Cognos FMM Developer to support a new Claims, Policy and Billing System. This position needs a FM modeler specialist who primarily has done FM development in their last position 95% of the time and should be focused on FM development and related tasks. Our Data Warehouse and Reporting infrastructure shifted from DB2/Hyperion to Vertica/Cognos. Client is implemented a new Claims, Policy and Billing system. In addition to the shift from DB2/Hyperion to Vertica/Cognos, the nature of our data is also changing, as data elements are changing purpose and semantics as part of the transition. BWC’s new system will have a transaction data store (TDS) and a newly designed Vertica Data warehouse. The new Vertica Data Warehouse will be presented to our customers via the Cognos Toolset, specifically models created in Framework Manager Modeler. The Framework Modeler Developer will be primarily involved in interpreting design documentation, working with Data Analysts and Report Developers to create models appropriate for use by reporting and business staff. This position will also be expected to perform Report Development as required. During a given day, this position will be expected to; • Work with Data Analysts, Report Developers and potentially business customers to verify requirements documents • Use Framework Manager for Relational and Dimensional models, setting up hierarchies, performance tuning and optimizing framework environment • Use Framework Manager Modeler to create models for consumption by Report Developers and Power Business Users • Attend design meetings • Use database tools to perform required tasks • Perform knowledge transfer to BWC staff Required Skills • 10 years of more experience with SQL Required programming against RDBMS on data warehouse and business intelligence projects • 10 years or more experience with business Intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos • 5 years or more experience with Cognos Framework Modeling, lQDs (Impromptu Query Definitions), Report Studio and Query Studio • 5 years or more experience with development and support of dimensional/star-schema based data structures including fact tables (commonly referred to as Kimball) • 5 years or more experience with development and support of de-normalized relational data structures and operational reporting • 5 years or more experience with operational details of maintaining and modifying the Cognos Framework • 5 years or more experience with techniques to organize framework details between models and within a model • At least 3 years of experience with Cognos Framework Manager Modeler in a data warehouse environment using Cognos 8 or above Desired Skills • Experience with HTML and JavaScript, as used for Cognos reporting • Experience writing design specifications, test scripts and other required documentation • Experience developing queries against normalized as well as dimensional data structures • Experience establishing standards based on industry best practices • Skill in the use of organizational tools & methods (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, VISIO, Clarity) • Experience performing peer reviews • Ability to effectively communicate with business and IT staff • Ability to establish and maintain positive collaborative relationships with team members *Regards,* Ashish Khatri [email protected] [email protected] *972-499-6330 EXT:-510* Tri Cascade Technologies division of Saxon Global 5020 Campus Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660, USA -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
