System Administrator Location: US-VA-Reston Duration: 12 Months Job Description: Looking for an AS400 Administrator. Someone with PTF experience. The person must be a self-starter and have excellent communication and people skills. Maintain the AS/400 machines to provide reliable tape backups and job execution, database mirroring and maintain high availability per business needs as well as maintaining the development server. Manage AS/400 system operations, apply PTF's, install OS upgrades, track/report AS/400 resource utilization Monitor AS/400 logs, system messages, perform troubleshooting and update operations documentation Respond to alerts, messages and pages Recommend initiatives and execute projects to meet business operational requirements The person needs more than “operator” experience. We need someone who has administration experience. Please note there is a difference between operator experience administration experience.
