*Must Have Skills:*

• Strong experience in managing ETL processes

• Strong familiarity with data structures specific to Epic Systems:
Chronicles, Clarity Compass and Caboodle dimensional models

• Experience in UNIX and Windows (4yrs)

• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database administration (2yrs)

• General knowledge of dimensional data models and cubes (1yr).

• Familiarity with Epic BI reporting, dashboard and data visualization tools

• Self starter with ability to operate with little direct oversight

• Good interpersonal skills – you will be communicating regularly with
internal and external employees of various computer skill levels, helping
them resolve a wide variety of technical issues

• Effective priority and task management skills



*Desired Skills:*

• Experience supporting healthcare related applications

• Epic Caboodle Certification

• Extensive knowledge of Epic Chronicles data model and extraction methods,
KB-SQL, Hyperspace tools

• Understanding of advanced ETL and data pipeline architectures

• Familiarity with newer business intelligence and data visualization tools

• Familiarity with newer ETL data warehouse paradigms

• Knowledge in UNIX AND Windows

• Epic cache experience a plus





*Job Roles/Responsibilites:*

• Perform basic Clarity and Caboodle administration duties.

• Install Clarity and Caboodle software components and perform code updates
and upgrades.

• Oversee ETL processes; troubleshoot and work to resolve data integrity
issues.

• Communicate ETL process complexities clearly to DBA and dataset provider
teams

• Work with dataset providers-developers to refine and tune database SQL
queries and data extractions methods, make recommendations based on
research outcomes

• Research and promote usage of native database features to enhance ETL
and/or query efficiencies.

• Create and modify database objects and review the use of databases.

• Create and deploy database level security structures where necessary.

• Perform traditional DBA activities for SQL database systems.

• Make recommendations to enhance storage and data protection strategies
for very large databases

• Monitor system performance counters, application response time and other
system metrics and respond to any issues before they become widespread
problems

• Ensure that application and system configurations support optimal system
performance.

• Engage CVS Enterprise resources as/when needed, especially UNIX, SAN,
Windows and Citrix administrators in the CVS Share Services team (EITS)

• Assist with vendor application upgrades.
