The *Product Specialist* is an expert programmer/developer for a set of
products or applications critical to the services provided by DOE.  Please
note, this position is expected to be an ongoing role for at least the next
fiscal year.

The Delaware Department of Education is seeking a dynamic Software
Developer/Product Specialist to join an exciting work environment that
develops and supports 50+ active applications statewide.

Departmental applications provide a wide array of educational information
including fiscal, personnel, and student data for federal/state reporting,
internal departmental functions, and general public consumption.  The
workgroup also coordinates data collection/governance activities within the
Department of Education that improve the quality of educational decision
making by providing accurate and timely information, improving the quality
of reporting mechanisms, and providing user friendly access to information
systems. The successful candidate for this position must be highly
motivated, technically capable, and possess the ability to deliver products
on-time. They are expected to be a functional team member in an Agile
Project Management environment using Scrum methodologies.

The successful candidate will be expected to be on location Monday-Thursday
with a telecommute option on Friday.



*Essential Qualifications for Employment:*

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a
degree in a related field, or a minimum of 5 years advanced experience in
at least three of the following areas:

*Skills:*

   - Experience using databases, systems and programming languages that
   develop software applications with the .NET framework.
   - Experience with one or more modern client-side web technologies:
*(RequireJS,
   Angular2, Grunt, NodeJS, Less, Sass, Webpack)*
   - Single Page Application development experience with knowledge about
   developing plugins and widgets
   - Experience using visualization libraries like D3 or HighChart is a big
   plus
   - Experienced skills in User Interface Design and User Experience
   (UI/UX) and developing applications that will function across different
   platforms including mobile devices
   - Experience building accessible websites (all State content must
   conform to WCAG 2.0, level AA)
   - Strong and current understanding of Microsoft SQL Server database
   infrastructure design and high availability best practices (SQL Server
   2008R2 , SQL Server 2016)
   - Experience developing ASP.NET Web APIs
   - Experience in designing and executing database platform migrations
   - Experience with Agile delivery process and Scrum methodologies
   - Experience with Git
