The main focus of this project will be to develop automated search scripts in Ruby and serve as mentor and primary resource to the junior developer. This will be a full-time, on-site contracting project *Duties and Responsibilities* *Develop and maintain automated search scripts for various web sites and databases *Develop and maintain a Ruby on Rails application to manage data *Design application components as needed *Implement and document design decisions and development methodologies *Develop and implement backup and recovery processes *Implement software testing strategies *Assist and mentor existing developer *Requirements* *Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science or related field *Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails *Experience with the Watir automation library a plus *Understanding of MVC application design *Experience with jQuery or other javascript libraries a plus *Familiarity with distributed version control systems, preferably Git *Strong development background *Excellent communication and documentation skills a must *Flexibility and a willingness to assist with other responsibilities within or outside the department. *Excellent verbal and written communication skills. *Self motivated.*Detail oriented.*Internet savvy, resourceful, and ability to think *Must be a team player with the ability to work independently. -- Many Thanks.
