Candidates will be responsible to build multiple designs/layouts for UI concepts and translate these designs in a HTML template. They will visualize concepts quickly and cleanly through rapid prototyping methods. They will be responsible to build optimized, standards based, cross-browser compatible HTML/CSS. The role is 50/50 design development and candidates must have expertise in both areas. *Qualified candidates will possess at least 3-4 years experience hand-coding HTML, CSS and Javascript based on web standards and best practices for information delivery, scalability, and security. *They must also possess solid graphics manipulation and creation skills. *REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:*** Ø BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems Ø MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred Ø Minimum of eight years professional experience focused on development of multi-tiered (Client, Web, Business, and Enterprise) Web applications. Ø Experience should span the entire development lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, verification, and deployment). *Minimums:* Ø 5 years working experience in related IT fields Ø 3-5 years Web application technologies: *Apache/Tomcat, AJAX, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, HTML 4* Ø 5 2-3 years Service Oriented Concepts: *Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Cloud Computing* Ø 2-3 years Database Technologies: *Oracle or SQL Server, Oracle Preferred* Ø 2-3 years strong graphic design *skills GUI design best practices Directory Services: LDAP, Active Directory Web-based communication protocols: SOAP, HTTP, TCP/IP Web-based security technology: AES, SSL, TLS Secure Internet communication from a private LAN through firewalls and proxy servers Demonstrated ability to collaborate in an corporate environment and negotiate with key stakeholders* *Note:* All candidates are required to provide a portfolio of previous design work. *DESIRED SKILLS*: Prior experience with utilities/transmission, Google Earth/Maps, Java Hands-on experience in the past with programming, system design, development and implementation, deployment and production support.
