PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Installation and administration of Backup Servers (Master & Media Servers) using Symantec Netbackup 5.x, 6.x • Manage Spectra Logic tape library Installation and administration. • Manager restoration of exchange email and other data as requested. • Manage old email restoration to Enterprise vault to make it available for online search. • Assist in the defining, design, and implementation, of a long term strategy to provide self-service e-discovery, potentially through Symantec’s e-discovery solution or an alternative solution to be defined. • Work with SAs on successfully delivering a long term solution. • Ensure SLAs defined for the business are met. Required Skills : • Expertise with Symantec/Veritas backup technologies, specifically Netbackup 5.x and 6.x. • Expertise with backup & restore processes of Exchange servers including Exchange 5.x, Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003 servers. • Expertise with managing various tape libraries based on 8MM, AIT, LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape technologies. • Expertise to successfully restore data from old tapes by building out the backup servers & inventorying the tapes. • Expertise with Symantec E-vault technologies a must. • Expertise with e-discovery technologies a plus. • Experience with Spectra Logic tape libraries is a plus. • Good working knowledge on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with employees and customers at all skill levels; including the ability to translate and communicate technical and analytical issues to all types of end users. • Knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies is a plus. • Ability to work under considerable pressure managing multiple tasks and priorities. • Motivated self-starter personality; must be able to work independently.
