Individuals in this position perform most of the development of information delivery systems at the Client and must be highly motivated, self-starters with minimal need for supervision and guidance. Assignments will consist of a mix of project based work and support tasks. Following the guidelines and best practices as defined by the BI team leader this position will work on information requests typically requiring the creation or modification of a report or data extract from our data warehouse or other corporate data sources. Leveraging past experience and knowledge of our best practices individuals in this position will make recommendations on the direction and future of existing information delivery systems and will collaborate with senior IT team members to promote the proper development and usage of the BI platform. Must be able to work in a dynamic environment to meet the needs of our business. * * *ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Development and testing of assigned reporting, analytics and dashboard tasks by following established best practices and guidelines. Expertise in relational and multidimensional database schemas. Building OLAP (online analytical processing) cubes. Applying data mining algorithms and writing . Aggregating data from multiple sources in an efficient data warehouse. Designing enterprise-level solutions for very large multidimensional databases. Provide mentoring to junior team members on best practices and technical skills. Collaborates with BI Leader and It Business Partners to create dashboard, analytics and reporting standards. Accomplishes job results by work activities, follow-up and user training. Achieves corporate and departmental objectives by researching, developing, and implementing solutions to meet business requirements. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. *OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Upholds Red Wing Shoe Company’s core values. Conducts self according to RWSC policies/Handbook. *CUSTOMERS* Internal: Primarily other members of IT team; External: Vendor, technical and service personnel (consultants). *Requirements* *EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related subject and two to five years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. *REQUIRED TECHINCAL SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE * Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL and stored procedures Experience with report writing tools such as Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services Experience with analytical tools such as IQ4bis, PerformancePoint or other business analytics tools Experience with PerformancePoint or other dashboard / scorecard visualization tools Strong understanding of SharePoint specifically with regard to is use as a deliver platform for reports and dashboards Effective verbal and written communication skills. *ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS * Internet and email communications. Microsoft Office tools including Access and Excel SQL Server Analytical Services Basic understanding of IIS, Active Directory and other Microsoft core technologies Knowledge of Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Retail environments WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily office environment.
