Hi, I have Business Systems Analyst opportunity open. It's a 6+month contract, we're looking for someone with the strong networking background in the telecommunications industry. They'll have to have some experience with the inventory management systems (homegrown is fine). The analyst piece is very important: modeling, diagramming, etc.
Title: Business Systems Analyst - Telecom Location: Dublin, OH Length: 6 + months Number of Openings: 2 Requirements: * 3 - 5 years of telecom industry experience. * 3 - 5 years of recent BA/BSA experience. * Proven experience working with gathering business requirements and translating to system requirements. Must have experience with Use Cases - writing use cases, building sequence diagrams, swim lane diagrams, understanding UML notation, etc. * Understand basic SQL to query databases to obtain information. * Strong background in Inventory Systems. Experience can come from systems such as Cramer, Telcordia, MetaSolv's TBS, NetCracker, Granite, Incatel, Viziqor, Axiom, Syndesis, home-grown inventory systems, etc. * Previous experience in an Agile or iterative environment. * Strong networking experience is required. * Application domain knowledge in Telecom & data networks is required to have credibility with user representatives and to be able to work effectively with them. • Strong understanding of Transport & wavelength technologies like SONET, DWDM, RPR etc. • Strong understanding of packet network technologies such as Ethernet, ATM, frame relay, IP, xVOIP. • Strong understanding of telecom services like DSL, VPN(L2, L3), private line transport. • Good understanding of routing protocols like BGP, MPLS, etc. • Strong fundamentals with the ability to understand industry directions towards convergence and how it applies to application development. • Understanding of concepts defines by bodies such as ITU & TMF. * Strong knowledge of Ethernet - Ethernet concepts, types of mediums, types of connectors, Layer 2 quality of service (OSI model), VLAN and VTP domains, etc. * Previous use of requirement management tools - RequisitePro or Caliber ideally. * Good communication - both written and verbal. * Strong documentation skills. ***Candidates MUST be able to pass a background screen.
