*Job Title: Micronetworks with Product Lead* *Location: Herndon, VA Duration: 12 Months* *POSITION SUMMARY:* Client is looking for a candidate with exceptional experience to serve as Micronetworks Lead. The role will be the principle driver of developing and bringing online new licensed and unlicensed, small cell wireless networks. *PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* *Product requirements* *Device Requirements: * Develop, consolidate, and communicate product and technical specifications for manufacturers.. Leadership role in ensuring service and HW requirements are aligned and understood. Drive design phase of service initiatives. Work with CUSTOMER product management to develop out-of-home WiFi services. Work with Mobile Network Operators and CUSTOMER Business Class team to develop small (“picocell”) wireless networks services that meet or exceed MNO business and technology needs. Work with CUSTOMER business affairs, finance, marketing to develop a business requirements, contracts and analysis. Develop and execute wireless product plans in support of strategic product objectives, incorporating and managing each of the 4Ps of marketing. Device Roadmap Planning: Assist with long-term, strategic planning for product and service roadmaps Operations Fully engage in trials. Work hand-in-hand with project management to insure timely completion of program. Identify operational product requirements through successes and misses during trials. OEM Vendor Management: Manage all day-to-day communications with OEM partners around device delivery requirements and timelines. Device Activation. Interface with internal teams, vendors and MNOs to ensure effective device activation process. *TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE*: Requires at least 6 years technical/engineering experience in WiFi and MNO-facing product development with service enabler, vendor, MSO or wireless carriers/operators. Familiarity with 2G, 3G and 4G mobile wireless technologies, voice and its data standards and also data networking with TCP/IP. Deep knowledge of the role of WiFi, including authentication and roaming. Technical knowledge of cable and broadband networks, as well as current and emerging technologies and standards is very beneficial required. Experience in hardware development and certification as a program manager or project manager. Experience writing and managing business and technical requirements, developing strategies and technical roadmaps for new products. Understanding of carrier device / network acceptance processes. Must have excellent documentation and communications skills. Experience in issue resolution and risk mitigation strategies Intense focus on details and execution excellence. *EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS*: Undergraduate degree in technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering, Communications technologies) or, equivalent experience Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in MNO network enabling services. Excellent communicator with different personality types from wireless engineers/architects to operations to marketing teams. Ability to lead and influence groups without formal authority. Fast learner with the passion to work in relatively new areas of technology and an analytical thinking. Experience in managing contractors and vendors.
