SYSTEMS ENGINEER San Diego, CA 6month contract - Rate: $45/hr C2C/1099 MUST HAVE'S: -Apache server and IIS Server -5+yrs of systems engineering experience -Linux - Application delievery controllers: F5 - high-transaction-high volume experience for the web (at an ENTERPRISE level) The job description is included below as well. Primary Responsibilities The Systems Engineer will be responsible for deployment, engineering, and support of the eBusiness infrastructure. The systems engineer will be required to work with the infrastructure teams to successfully deploy new infrastructure for our eBusinesss applications. This infrastructure consists of the following elements (SAN, Networking, Load Balancing, Operating Systems, Java Application Server, Backups, Security, DNS, Authentication, Acceleration, Monitoring, Load Testing, etc). The Systems Engineer is also responsible for ascertaining system volume, analyzing traffic patterns, and diagnosing issues. The Systems Engineer will also be responsible for Tier 3 support of the eBusiness infrastructure along with supporting all eBusiness Projects. Essential Functions Skills Required: Exceptional knowledge in the following areas: Various Java Application Servers: Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic Web Servers: Apache and IIS Application Delivery Controllers: f5 VMware ESX 3.5 or VMware VSphere Virtual Environments Web Application Configuration Management PCI Security Compliance for eBusiness applications SuSE 10/11 or RHEL 4/5 Linux Operating System Windows Operating Systems (2003 and 2008) Web Acceleration technology (Akamai, f5, etc) Experience Requirements A minimum of 5+ years as a Systems Engineer. Must also have experience in high-transaction-volume/high revenue (USD 1B/year or more) operations. Ability to prioritize workload, plan ahead, and excellent communication skills are key to this position.
