*Job Title: CICS/COBOL/Batch* *Location: Washington,DC* *Duration: Long term* *Start Date: 2/21/11* *Position Description: *Currently working for client, which is responsible for the daily operation of SSA’s programmatic and business operations. We have an immediate need for a highly motivated CICS/COBOL/Batch Application/Systems Programmer. OTSO Application Design, Development, Testing & Maintenance Support Expert Level CICS/COBOL/Batch Application Programming experience Expert level CICS Systems Programming experience Specific experience with IBM mainframe (z/OS) print services in a Wide-Area Network setting. Ideally, this experience would include printing from a number of different sources (various platforms and operating systems), with emphasis on z/OS. The position requires z/OS Systems Programming experience including JES3 spooling, Advanced Function Print (AFP), variable data printing, secure print services, WAN-based PCL printers, and Output management Services. Expert level experience with Capacity Management and Performance Analysis on the z/OS environment. Prior experience with use of products and design of architectures for print stream conversion from AFP to PDF/PCL and print stream routing from SNA to TCP/IP networks is a must. Solid experience with designing, developing and implementing applications that handle CICS data (AFP and SCS) on the z/OS environment. Experience with mainframe printing logistics including mainframe character printing, mainframe formatted IP printing, and PCOM print mechanisms (mainframe print emulation). Familiarity with High-Level Assembler (HLA), IBM DB2 and CICS is essential. The candidate must have experience with full life-cycle systems engineering methodologies including Concept of Operations, Requirements Analysis, conducting trade studies, performing make-buy analyses and developing formal recommendations, design and implementation of enterprise architectures. Must be able to navigate in a Windows workstation setting, and have good knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical. Candidate must be able to effectively interact with all levels of customer staff, and be able to flourish in a government contract setting.
