Sybase to Oracle conversion experience is key ! This person will be a leader on this VERY IMPORTANT project. Person needs to understand Oracle 'inside and out' to recommend and help performance tuning. Knowledge of Oracle's latest version of the RDBMS ( 11) is important. Charles River (the application on Oracle) doesn't support release 11 of Oracle YET; but it will in the future; so knowledge of Oracle 11 vs 10 is important from a 'planning / strategy' perspective... for the future in NT. *knowledge includes:* - complex SQL statements and PL*SQL stored procedures including the use of cursors and ref cursors - Oracle optimization knowledge - Oracle Performance tuning - Sybase to Oracle conversion experience - UNIX shell scripting with ksh - Experience with investment systems and DataStage is plus, but NOT required. *Description:* *PROJECT (backround)* Client has moved the company to CHARLES RIVER (trade execution) software from a 'front end' standpoint. That was Phase 1. Phase 2 (this project)- is migrating 5 large SYBASE databases-version 8.xx (approx 3 terabytes of data) to Oracle. It's Oracle database version 10 G Client has a tech. svcs. (or shared services) internal group that manages the Hardware, and they're freeing up space for this project. They're moving interrnal applications from Oracle relesase 10 to release 11 to make Hardware available so the group doesn't have to buy new hardware. Need a very senior Oracle (10G) DBA, with a development backround, and ideally one with Financials services experience.
