Note:
Preference will be given to candidates with ten (10) years of IT experience
in all phases of software development
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Project
Management Office is seeking a short term (12 month maximum) contractor.
This resource will be utilized on various projects within DOT.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
• Perform in role of Project Manager
• Life cycle management
• Prepare and conduct status reporting and executive briefings
• Resource management
• Risk management and time and cost management
• Manage project timeline and lead the technical effort (Including:
assigning and directing the work of staff as assigned)
*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:*
Required:
• Minimum of five (5)years of project management experience
• Working knowledge of application development in a variety of platforms
• Planning and management skills (Including: scope, estimating budgeting and
resource allocation procedures)
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Proven leadership skills
• Positive interpersonal skills
• Strong written and Verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
• Working knowledge of Project Management processes and industry best
practices Demonstrated experience managing application development teams
• Microsoft Suite experience (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills
Preferred:
• Proven experience managing large projects (>$1M)
• Proven experience developing and managing SAP Projects
• Proven experience managing 3rd party vendor projects
• Proven experience managing project level budget, scope and schedules
• PMP Certification
