Position: Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer
Location: NY
Duration: 6+Months
*Roles & Responsibilities:
* * Dive deeply into the data stored in the enterprise data warehouse.
Analyze, develop and document the appropriate data schema mapping,
extensions, ETL, OLAP, etc., and work with the KTPA Data Architect, KTPA
product and reporting teams, and our partner teams to drive use of the data
warehouse resources.
* Design star schemas and OLAP Cubes using Microsoft Analysis Services
to support reporting needs
* Work with relevant subject matter experts to perform detailed source
system analysis
* Design relational models in 3NF and document accordingly
* Work with the senior management of the Data Warehouse Delivery Team to
define our roadmap for dealing with large and rapidly-growing volumes of
data
* Work hands-on with software developers, report developers, DBAs and
operations team to optimize systems scalability and performance.
* Explore new opportunities that add to the business value proposition
and/or reduce costs.*
Required Skills:
* * 5+ years industry experience designing and implementing
high-performance, high-availability 24/7 production databases
* 1+ years experience working in OLAP environments
* Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills enabling
comprehension and development of complex technical and business issues,
topics, and plans
* Ability to understand and related product technology, strategy and
direction with business needs
* Leader and role model comfortable working as an individual contributor
and as a member of a team, across diverse organizations
* Understanding of the different data warehouse architectures/modeling
paradigms and their pros and cons
* Strong analytical skills
* Knowledge of source code management systems and the concepts
surrounding them
* Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with
business users as well as other members of the technical staff
* Ability to partner with senior developers and to mentor junior
developers
* Experience with large-scale production systems (i.e. scalability,
high-availability), with the ability to optimize architecture and
implementation across all layers of architecture
* Experience designing Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts*
Additional/desired:
* * Experience with Embarcadero ER Studio
* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services
* Experience with Oracle RAC, MS SQL Server and/or MySQL clusters
* Experience with Data Vault design methodology for Enterprise Data
Warehouses
* Experience with enterprise class ETL tools such as IBM Data Stage
* Experienced with a wide range of technologies and standards, and
experienced selecting the appropriate approaches for each application.
* Fluency with MDX for multidimensional analysis*
