Position:    UNIX Systems Administrator
Location:  Raleigh, NC
Duration: 12 Months

Mandatory Requirements:
* Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience supporting
critical business applications on the Solaris operating system.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting Solaris v. 10.
* Minimum of three (3) years experience performing UNIX systems backup
administration.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Symantec Net Backup
* Demonstrated understanding of integration issues with EMC SAN
technology including fibre channel protocol, HBA device configuration,
and Power Path management.
* Proficient consulting skills (candidate will work with and advise
senior technical and management staff

Desirable Skill:
* Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience with SuSE Linux
Enterprise Server.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
This position will support assignment to support production
applications of the Employment Security Commission (ESC).
Specifically, this work supports agency databases hosted in an Oracle
RDBMS environment on UNIX servers with the Solaris 10 operating
system. Business applications supporting Unemployment Insurance
claims, Employment Services, and Unemployment Insurance wage records
reporting are designated as high availability. These applications are
accessed through a World Wide Web (WWW) interface and are available to
ESC customers on a 7 x 24 basis.

NOTE:
* This position requires the skills of a UNIX Systems Administrator.
The ESC UNIX SA Team works with Oracle DBAs but does not perform
database administration responsibilities. The UNIX SA Team works with
the DBA Team to support Oracle technologies and address integration
issues affecting Oracle 11g, Oracle ASM, Oracle RMON, and Oracle RAC.
Other significant responsibilities include troubleshooting and problem
definition in response to monitoring alerts and service
interruptions..
