***Location: Omaha,NE* *Duration: 3months contract to hire* The Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha is looking for a full time GIS Business Analyst to join their EAM team. This position will contribute to business process analysis and process improvement while working with other team members and business units to implement business process functions related to Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The position will work with business units and fellow team members in an analyst capacity to interpret business needs and objectives by defining system requirements and specifications within our architectural and development standards. Qualified candidates will be responsible for functional outcomes ensuring that they meet business objectives and value drivers. In this capacity you will be expected to be a functional expert and be responsible for ensuring integration points with other functional areas and applications that are planned for and implemented. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of overall post-graduate experience with at least 2 to 3 years of technical and business hands-on ESRI GIS implementation and spatial analysis experience. · Experience working with ESRI ArcInfo, ArcEditor, ArcServer, and other ESRI GIS products and extensions · Extensive understanding of a public utility and their multiple business functions and their interdependencies · Provide technical support and administration of Geographic Information System software and equipment. Develop and implement standards, procedures, and workflow for GIS data development, maintenance, quality control, and distribution. Coordinate access among various users to ensure integrity, accuracy, and usefulness of geographic data. · Identify opportunities where spatial data and GIS applications can impact existing and potential business functions. Assist in the development of improved business practices and operational efficiencies through the application of geospatial applications, data, services, maps, reports, and analysis. · Provide strategic planning for the GIS system.
