Job Purpose:
A PL\SQL Developer is responsible for the analysis, design, development,
maintenance and support of software applications. This position is also
responsible for the development of key infrastructure and/or architectural
components and processes.
Essential Functions:
Performs the following activities: requirements definition, design,
development, testing and implementation
Gains necessary input/approval of requirements and design and participates
in code reviews
Ensures applications meet requirements and is error free
Develops technical system documentation
Builds enterprise architectural and/or infrastructure components
Ensures that applications meet the architectural standards
Supports the operations of existing applications
Adheres to a production support process
Works on periodic maintenance releases of applications, including
enhancements and defects
Looks for ways to enhance design of application for better maintainability
and software reuse
Looks for ways to incrementally improve the architecture of legacy systems
Involves users in the development/maintenance of applications (e.g.,
requirements, testing)
Understands how users use their applications
Anticipates users future needs when architecting solutions
Manages workload to deliver quality deliverables that meet requirements and
timelines
Communicates status of assignments to supervisor
Notifies supervisor of issues that impact productivity or ability to meet
expectations
Assists Manager in tracking progress, prioritizing work, developing time
estimates and work plans and assisting less experienced team members
Resolves issues or escalates to Manager, if necessary

Qualifications: *
Experience in *PL\SQL* programming is required; Experience with
*Oracle 10g*environment preferred
Experience using *Visual Basic* and the *.Net platform* (VB.Net, ASP.Net,
C#)
Excellent skills in writing, maintaining, testing and debugging code in
applicable programming languages
Experience with *web services*
Experience with Oracle relational databases
Ability to apply Object-Oriented analysis and design
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
Knowledge of *Linux operating systems a plus*

Develop and maintain scripts and programs for data exchanges and interfaces
with external systems
Coordinate format requirements for data interfaces with mission critical
systems
Technical POC for interface requirement issues; Provide general Oracle
database technical and administrative support; Provide monthly status to the
Technical POC;
Provide metric reporting to client management
Ability to perform any/all task within ORACLE/DBA lifecycle (design,
development, unit/class testing, maintenance, documentation).
Ability to function as part of a development team to include the use of a
version control system.
Strong capability and ability to resolve highly technical and complex
database and infrastructure related issues on their own before they impact
production and business.
Provides technical expertise to the development of solutions for such items
as DBMS tools and utilities usage, database administration, backup and
recovery, database performance tuning and monitoring.
Performs database migrations, upgrades and structure migrations.
Ability to influence development organizations to comply with database best
practices and database standards and practices.
Runs transaction access path analysis sessions with application developers,
analyzing specifications and code to ensure that data access and database
designs are as efficient as possible. Make recommendations for improvements
in these areas, if necessary.
Fully utilizes CASE tools to develop, or modify, physical database designs
from logical designs, using the logical design, discussion with the Data
Analyst, application development reviews, and documented results from
transaction access path analysis sessions as input.
Assures quality of database analysis and design across projects, thus
enabling company-wide data reusability.
Trouble-shoots database and/or software problems as they apply to design,
implementation, or installation activities.
Schedules and coordinates database maintenance activities including such
items as database reorganizations and restructures.
Coordinates and/or participates in database stress tests, analyzes results,
and makes recommendations for design or coding changes based upon those
results.
Participates in off-hour production problem resolution activities.
Researches, evaluates, and tests new software and DBMS related tools and
facilities as they pertain to the existing DBMS environment, database
designs, procedures, and applications.
Monitors current DBMS performance and develops procedures, where necessary,
to improve the DBMS environment as required.
Identifies and supports quality improvement initiatives.
Performs other assignments to comply with the IT corporate purpose and
mission to add business value, increase revenue, decrease costs, improve
productivity, and support the strategic initiative/directive.
Complies with all security and audit standards. Ensures security of company
information by ensuring database is secure and monitors environment to
identify improper access.

Experience:
5+ years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
Highly skilled in *Oracle database* and *SQL statement tuning* with detailed
understating of Oracle s *performance reports AWR* and *Stats-Pack PL/SQL
performance tuning*.
Ability to provide professional level technical documentation and
presentation for the tuning recommendations.
Working knowledge of MSSQL Server databases, SSRS and SSIS is a big Plus.
Hands on experience working on *Oracle 9i, 10g and 10g RAC* database
applications, *Oracle s ASM,TDE, OEM Grid control, RMAN **
*Good UNIX Sun Solaris, Linux knowledge and shell scripting is a plus.
Basic understanding of Connection pooling and middleware software like
JBoss, JRun, Tom Cat, IBM Web sphere is desired.
Hands on Experience of implementing *Oracle 9i and 10G database on UNIX and
Linux platform is a must. **

Responsibilities:
Senior resource with at least 8 years of IT experience for design,
development, integration and building of various administrative, automation
tools/components of cutting-edge Middleware (J2EE app server, BPM,
Messaging, orchestration and DB) infrastructure and 12 years experience in
enterprise level Information Technology projects. The primary responsibility
is to design, build/maintain new runtime administration tools involving
provisioning and automation with a flexible and highly available Middleware
hosting products environments globally. The hosting environment must enable
segregation of applications from different teams using a common hardware
platform. The final result is reviewing the current manual processes
involved in middleware product procurement processes for the applications
and automate to increase developer/operational productivities. Candidate

Non-Technical Skills:

to articulate technical opinions to large audience with various skill

Must be able to function within teams as both a team player or a team
leader.

Qualification:
