Location: Austin, TX Duration: June 30, 2011 (Good possibility of an extension) Rate: Open *Description:* The Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect to perform the following: · Worker shall perform highly complex data analysis for a business intelligence solution. · Design and direct the ETL process, including data quality and testing. · Define the overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW, Data Marts). · Direct the data warehouse meta data capture and access effort. · Work involves providing database administration support in relation to Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. · Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures for the data warehouse. · Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data warehouse. · Review information systems requirements to provide the best and most cost effective solutions for the organization. · Work with ERD data modeling tools. · Expertise in modeling complex conformed dimensions. · Coordinate and facilitate reporting meetings ensuring that agendas are prepared ahead of time and notes are prepared and distributed afterwards. · Control and monitor the progress and schedule of assigned projects. · Communicate both verbally and in writing with various project stakeholders, management, other relevant parties both internal and external to the agency, the project status and risks as well as any outstanding issues and recommendations for resolving those issues which could not be resolved at the project team level. · Works under limited supervision of the Manager of Software Development with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. · Communicate effectively and correctly in writing and verbally on a variety of business matters as required · Data Architect experience in implementing a Data Warehouse Required Skills: · Experience facilitating work sessions and gathering requirements. · Knowledge of data warehouse reporting environments · Experience using DB2 LUW in an IBM Data Warehouse D5100 Business Intelligence Environment. · Strong planning skills with proven track record of well engineered design · Knowledge of previous versions of Business Objects XI 3.1, including WEBI reports, Crystal 2008 and Xcelsius 2008 and Universe Design. *Minimum Requirements:*** *Years* Skills/Experience 5 Experience facilitating work sessions and gathering requirements. 4 Knowledge of data warehouse reporting environments 4 Experience using DB2 LUW in an IBM Data Warehouse D5100 Business Intelligence Environment. 4 Strong planning skills with proven track record of well engineered design 3 Knowledge of previous versions of Business Objects XI 3.1, including WEBI reports, Crystal 2008 and Xcelsius 2008 and Universe Design. *Preferences:*** *Years* Skill/Experience 5 Experience with Business Objects/Business Intelligence project(s) as a reporting tool 5 Gathering requirements for Business Objects/Business Intelligence project(s) 2 Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government). 1 Knowledge of SAP’s Rapid Marts 1 Experience with Extreme/Agile Project Management Practices.
