Position: Data Architect Location: Sacramento,CA Duration: 12 Months (possible extension) ***Mandatory Qualifications:* 1. At least (10) years of experience working as a data modeler creating both logical and physical data models for various relational databases; 2. At least (10) years of experience developing and maintaining data dictionaries and data models; 3. At least (8) years of experience developing data strategies and associated polices and best practices to promote data security, integrity, quality and consistency; 4. At least (6) years of experience implementing data migration, and data testing to ensure data quality and consistency; 5. At least (5) years of experience working with products/tools in the areas of data warehousing, enterprise data integration, metadata registry, etc.; 6. At least (3) years of experience designing and implementing data retention/exchange mechanisms at database level; 7. At least (2) years of working experience with health-care related IT applications/systems; 8. Possession of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from a U.S. accredited university or college; 9. Excellent oral communication skills; 10. Excellent technical writing skills; and 11. Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies. *Desirable Qualifications: * 1. Knowledge of CLIENT’ clinical programs, IT projects and data-related systems; 2. Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2005/2008 and Oracle Databases; 3. Knowledge of Java and .Net; 4. Proven ability to work both in a team environment and independently. 1 SCOPE OF SERVICES *Contractor shall perform all of the following: * 1. Participate in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with CLIENT Subject Matter Experts (SME), other business users, analysts, and/or stakeholders to develop and document data dictionaries and create domain data models; 2. Work with database administrators (DBAs) and/or IT project developers to create logical/physical data models; 3. Maintain data models and act as custodian of data models; 4. Work with Technical Architects and DBAs to analyze and design data exchange mechanisms; 5. Work with enterprise architects to develop, publish, educate, and promote data strategies, standards, policies, and best practices; 6. Perform analysis, design, and execution of procedures for data testing and/or data migration; 7. Participate in preparation of documentation for enterprise data standards and best practices; and 8. All documents, analyses, reports, recommendations, white papers, and diagrams will be submitted to CLIENT’ Management, or designee(s), and produced using the using the *following tools: * 1 Microsoft Word; 2 Microsoft PowerPoint; 3 Microsoft Visio; 4 Microsoft Excel; and 5 Microsoft Outlook.
