Responsibilities include installation, configuration and tuning of Oracle databases; database backups (RMAN and Veritas Net backup), Database physical design, and job scheduling (CA Scheduler); Creating and validating procedures for all database processes; Performing daily checks including processing change, performance monitoring, system health checks, maintenance, basic data reorgs, table/index rebuilds, verifying backups, basic scripting, patches, configure database, UNIX and Perl scripting and design reviews; Monitoring code performance and assist in fine tuning queries; Monitoring production databases, tuning the database for maximum performance and assist in query optimization; Working with application teams to design and develop database structures and routines for data manipulation; Production 24/7 coverage and weekend implementations are required.
