*Location : Lansing, MI * *Duration : 1+yrs* *Data Warehouse BI Developer Senior including the following tasks: * - Working with end users and developers to understand the data needs of an application and the larger systems. - Analyze project requirements and develop detailed specifications for new and existing data warehouse applications, system processes, and system interfaces. - Review and validate the development of test data and scenarios incorporating extensive knowledge of the Agency’s business rules. - Develop appropriate views for software developers and users to enable access to authorized production data. - Develop solutions for existing IT systems to best meet the user’s needs enabling more efficient and cost effective processing. This includes: review existing systems, evaluate possible solutions and recommend technical modifications. - Assume a leadership role in project management including developing project work plans and tracking project progress. Establish and regularly convene project teams to discuss anticipated problems, current status, and future plans for completing assigned projects timely and accurately. - Write, compile and modify detailed specifications for new and existing data warehouse applications and system processes. - Develop test plans by writing and testing procedural statements to perform design requirements. Perform necessary steps to ensure correctness of system and program procedures. - Develop or acquire test data and initiate tests to determine the accuracy of program logic to produce desired results. - Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector. j. Meet with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan. Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives. make appropriate recommendations. - Research and document business and technical data warehouse processes using current project management methodology. - Develop technical flowcharts - Working with the DBA and Data Modelers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the applications and reporting needs of the customer. - Work with developers and DBA to create and maintain design standards. - Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation (to the source system), query/reporting performance, and analytical business value. - Preferred (but not required) experience with State Government and Human Services business areas including Eligibility, Child and Adult Welfare, and Child Support including the following: a. TANF b. ASCAP II c. JJOLT d. EBT System e. SWSS Child (FAJ, CWCMS, CPS, Adoption Subsidy) f. Bridges g.
