*These are both top level technical lead type resources, people that would
be assigned to run full projects (with a PM of course), and people that I
would*

*look at as my technical "guru" type resources (lack of a better term, but
you get the gist).*

*Location: Boston, MA area or Raleigh, NC*



The resources I'm looking for have a wide range of technical skills in this
"industry" -

-       They should have a strong passion and background for java, j2ee
coding/implementation and integration projects,

-       Experience setting up the entire application stack (web,app,db – but
they are not DBA's but need to know how to work with SQL/JDBC/etc)

-       Experience performance tuning java based applications (garbage
collection, memory profiling, caching, etc)

-       Experience architecting custom java web-applications, specifically
for ecommerce or ebusiness type sites. By architecting I mean the ability to

work with our customers from the inception of their ideas, work through
requirements and technical designs, then into work planning and team

planning, then implementing, testing, fixing and deploying these
applications.

-       Experience integrating with various third-party and back-office
systems via different methods (flat files, web-services, etc)

-       Not afraid to get their hands dirty in terms of getting the work
done, if that means coding, installing, configuring, etc

-       Experience with java based application servers such as JBOSS,
WebLogic, IBM WAS

-       A plus if they've done application coding/enhancements with ATG

-       Our work place is very dynamic in that we get many different types
of projects/work, so we are looking for experienced resources who are not

afraid of the challenge and are willing to step in and help solve our
customers problems and provide tope quality solutions.

-       Our customers, typically, are with us for 3-5 years+ because they
usually sign a hosted contract with us as well, so customer facing/client

relationship skills are a must .

*Description*

 The Lead Technical Architect (LTA) is responsible for developing
architectures; the definition of the structures of an IT solution to a
business problem. They must be proficient at the techniques that go into the
formulation of architectures, including requirements discovery and
analysis,application of abstraction, formulation of solution context,
solution alternatives identification and assessment, technology selection,
and architectural configuration. This requires practical skills and
experience with many application and infrastructure (operational) products,

technologies, and services. Beyond the core skills of a Senior Technical
Architect, the Lead Technical Architect must also be proficient in
exercising technical leadership which requires the ability to accept
responsibility for the success of the architecture of a project, coordinate
resources that are often not directly under their control, and provide the
support necessary to ensure overall success. The LTA must have applied
knowledge in the engagement of complex projects which include efforts that
require cross- organizational/business partner/multiple customer or
multi-vendor coordination and on efforts that require a system of
substantial scale as measured by the total number of components, the number
of different kinds of components, and the complexity of the relationships
between them. This job requires demonstrated expertise of how to apply
architectural thinking to mission, strategy, and vision in innovative ways
that deliver positive impact and results to the business. Must be able
toevaluate the relevance and currency of IT implementations and
architectures in a changing business environment and in the context of
enterprise and

technology governance. Required to be an expert in the understanding of
architectural principles and their implications to system design,

securability, system extensibility and interoperability, costs, and
operational considerations. SUPERVISORY: NO I know this is a lot to ask, but
I know these guys exist out in the workplace, I have a few that work for me
now, and I need a couple more.
