*Position: Oracle/SQL Server DBA
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 12 months contract
Rate: $50/hr -- MAX

Locals preferred.
Face to Face after initial telephonic; Client or we do not bear the
expenses.*

DBA will be responsible for database designs and build-out activities for
production, disaster recovery and pre-production training databases on each
database server. Build DBA will provide guidance to the Application
Development Teams and Project Managers in developing and implementing each
of the below production support activities.

*The activities include: *
Participate in developing Banking database security standards, guidelines
and operational policies and procedures through Database Working Group
participation
Develop and document repeatable , reusable database build standards
incorporating database security requirements in the build process
Review physical structures
Review SQL performance and Tuning
Reviewing application's access to the database structures
Develop and implement backup & recovery strategies
Coordinate, review and implement (OMS) monitoring of database/subsystem
performance issues
Consult, Develop & implement database migration plans
Perform Disaster recovery switch-over / fail-over activities prior to
go-live
Develop database administration tools/utilities/operation procedures
Developing & maintaining naming standards for database objects such as table
spaces, tables, indexes & views
Providing functional guidance to application development teams.
For Oracle & Sybase, the Build DBAs will provide this functional guidance to
the Unix System Administrator.
Participate in selecting database management support tools
Ensure all production, disaster recovery and pre-production training
databases on each database server meet minimum security standards prior to
production go-lives (no exceptions)
Provide secondary on-call support responsibilities databases on each
database server.
