Ensures that the systems run as per design using commercial and customer monitoring tools. Recommends improvement to functionality, tools and other improvements allowing the systems to run more efficiently and effectively. . Configures, implements, installs and supports both stand alone and network servers running Solaris and Linux operating systems in support of the Business. Utilizes advanced Solaris and Linux administration skills. . Writes documentation for standard operating procedures, root cause analysis and disaster recovery. Validates disaster recovery initiatives though testing. . Schedules and coordinates change activities, including patches. . Performs complex hardware and software upgrades for multiple systems. . Provides pager support and daily monitoring of systems. Performs capacity analysis and planning. . Solves complex issues and reports back on resolution. Recommends actions to be taken on complex issues. . Records, tracks and documents incident management to final resolutions. Resolves incidents efficiently. Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur. Recommends action plans to manager. . May mentor and coach less experienced team members. Good to Have Skills .
