Statistical Modeler / Data Analyst

Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: 4-5 months

Description:
- An analyst with knowledge of statistical modeling to understand, communicate 
and mitigate the effects of changing upstream data on existing risk and 
marketing based statistical models.
- The successful candidate will be a self starter able to combine adaptability, 
attention to detail, business understanding, and technical and communication 
skills to reach goals.
Task Deliverables:
- Work independently, with modelers, change managers, data providers, lines of 
business and risk partners to determine the impact of upstream data changes, 
validate existing models against changed data, coordinate associated model 
coding changes, create Model Governance change control documentation and 
implement all model revisions.
- Gather data from modeling partners to develop a Model Variable Metadata 
Library, linking anticipated database changes to statistical models.
- Develop UAT objectives, test plans, detailed task summaries (DTS), readiness 
plans and other Six Sigma based project documentation.
- Write correct, clear and concise technical and user documentation.

Required Skills:
- Banking background.
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written. (Client is requesting 
that the user provide a technical or specification based writing sample.)
- Minimum of 5 years Statistical modeling background in a financial company 
(including logistical regression)
- Minimum of 5 years SAS experience, including SQL pass-through to extract 
warehouse data.
- Willingness to take initiative and own problems through resolution.
- Willingness to participate in and contribute to project meetings.
- Flexibility to change gear and step outside role as needed to meet 
deliverables.
- Client will be looking for clear and concise written communication and 
grammar with minimal edits.

Preferred Skills:
- Client experience.
- Deposits background supplemented by credit card knowledge.
- Experience with UNIX ksh scripting.
- Familiar with SharePoint.

Each candidate must be submitted with an attached technical writing sample**
** Please submit a writing sample that might represent a user guide for an 
application or process. This process could be imagined or real, but should have 
applicability to the banking and modeling world. A ½ page sample will be 
adequate, but client is  looking for the ability to convey technically oriented 
material in a grammatically correct, clear and concise manner. A flowchart 
(visio) describing the process would be a useful appension. **
