#############Need a Oracle DBA############### ******************Need Local and Nearby***************** Job Title : Oracle DBA Duration : 6 months + Location : Dayton, OH We have an immediate need for a Oracle DBA in Dayton, OH. This is an immediate need! PURPOSE of POSITION: The purpose of this position is database analysis, planning, design, and execution for a data migration project in support of all Oracle, MS SQL, and DB2 databases, including providing assistance with database migrations as required; to architect and plan the database infrastructure; MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position reports to Database Team Lead/Supervisor. This position serves as a resource for a data migration project. May communicate instructions, do minor scheduling, and inspect work. Does not hire, terminate, discipline, promote, demote, transfer, or appraise, but may be consulted by higher management in these areas. Oracle Databases (11g,10g,9i) - Install, build, patch and tune. Oracle Dataguard/Oracle Standby databases. Oracle performance tuning. RMAN or major backup packages. Logical and Physical Database design. Oracle Advanced Replication/ Real Application Clusters/VCS for Oracle. SQL, PLSQL, Shell scripting. Data warehousing/OLAP. Grid Control. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive knowledge of Oracle 11g, Dataguard, Goldengate, and data migration planning and design. Related Work Experience: 6-8 years Candidates must have experience administering/creating Oracle 11g/10g/9i/ on UNIX and/or Linux platforms. Experience with High Availability database solutions/architectures such as Veritas Clusters, Oracle Advanced Replication, Oracle Standby Database/DataGuard or Oracle Real Application Clusters. Experience with RMAN and major backup packages. Excellent SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting skills. Java or pearl experience is desirable. Hands-on experience with Oracle performance tuning /Statspack/AWR/ASH/ADDM. Data warehousing experience Hands on experience with database monitoring tools is required (10g Grid/ 9i OEM). Logical & Physical database design experience and data modeling experience is required.
