Basic Unix (Solaris, AIX, Linux) and Windows system administration skills are preferred. Legacy Remediation - Storage Project BTI: statement: Storage Area Network (SAN) Engineer Design/configure fiber channel attached (SAN) storage and Network Attached Storage (NAS) to meet business needs. Work with System Administrators and/or Applications Teams to migrate their data from older IBM ESS800 and EMC DMX2 storage units to new VMAX and CX4 units using VPLEX directors. Conduct analyses to determine the best way to configure the disk volumes or file systems for optimum performance and availability (disk array configuration management). Interface with System Administrators and/or Application teams to troubleshoot and fix application/performance problems. Assist in the planning and migration of TSM systems from V5.x.x to V6.x.x and then execute said plans. Participate in planning for separate data backup flow for long term data retention of data. Create Separate backup / recovery flows for Tactical/BCP data recovery vs. Long-Term retention and data archive. Migrate data and backup schedules from LT02/TapeLib equipment to new LT04/TabeLib and Data Domain 880 VTL Disk/De-dup Backup Units.
