We have immediate requirement for Unix System Administrator position
here in San Mateo, CA.
*Title: Unix System Administrator
Duration: 6-12+ month contract
Location: San Mateo, CA
Job Description:*
I need a UNIX Sys Admin that has monitoring experience with one of the
following: Nagios or PUPPET or Zenoss or CFEngine
Monitoring SA
Mid to Senior Level Unix SA who has 2-3 years in Production Operations (not
IT). Production Operations is the group that manages the customer facing
infrastructure (vs the internal which would be traditional IT). This role is
predominantly monitoring/automating their production environment. Their
production environment is a multi tenant website which they host and
maintain. It resides on Oracle and Cassandra databases.
Currently, the team has 3 people
The company has a CRM for Energy Management which allows large companies to
pull disparate information to monitor, assess, predict their energy usage
and carbon footprint. They have several existing customers now that are
piloting this solution.

REQUIREMENTS:*
Heavy/Senior level Scripting skills
Python is ideal; Ruby great but not absolute, BASH is required
*
MUST HAVE EITHER OR BOTH:*
PUPPET AND/OR ZENOSS-these are both open source monitoring/systems
management tools
MUST HAVE PRODUCTION OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE IN A SAAS ENVIRONMENT-client
hosts a multi tenant production site (on Oracle and Cassandra databases)
Linux I believe is the preferred flavor of Unix
