The individual must be able to work with minimum oversight on a day to day basis and possess • 8+ years network and system administration experience working in a 24x7 environment. • Network management - Solid understanding of routing and subnetting with proven skills in network troubleshooting and analysis (Wireshark) and network security (Checkpoint). • Active Directory - Experience maintaining multisite, multi domain AD deployments with ability to proactively monitor and correct problems before they impact production · SQL - Experience building and maintaining SQL servers; more advanced skills with DB tools - profiler and debugger. · Network Security knowledge; certifications a plus. · CISSP, MCSE, CCNA, or other industry recognized certification a plus Ideal Candidate Profile: · Can build a server room from scratch - Has supported Engineering Development teams - Has worked for small companies and/or Web companies whose core business depends upon 100% network performance - Knows and understands network technology – does not just administer – but troubleshoots networks based on solid understanding of network concepts - Communicates effectively with developers who specialize in network technologies (and who know networks inside and out!) - Knows both Windows and UNIX OS and demonstrates a hands-on engineering approach to troubleshooting. Uses Wireshark or other packet capture tools to analyze network problems.
