*Performance Engineer** *

*Job Summary:*

The Performance Engineer provides leadership and technical expertise in
application performance testing our client.  The Performance Engineer will
establish innovative and effective Performance Management methodology for
leveraging best-in class practices and solutions. A strong technical
background, as well as exceptional communication, and coordination skills
are required.



*Summary of essential Job Functions:*

•         Build and implement a performance testing methodology defining the
process in which performance test goals will be achieved.

•         Prepare performance test strategy plan for assigned projects.

•         Create and maintain performance test schedules for multiple
projects.

•         Coordinate performance scripting and performance runs with vendors
and on/offshore consultants to leverage best practices and deliver
solutions.

•         Manage workload for self and 2-4 other people on the performance
team, to complete performance testing tasks within planned project
schedules.

•         Ability to estimate, plan, and schedule performance testing tasks
accurately and drive them to completion.

•         Execute performance runs utilizing HP LoadRunner.

•         Quantify and publish statistics measuring achievement against
performance Service Level Agreements SLA’s.

•         Work closely with application development, architecture, and
infrastructure engineering groups to identify the right processes to
performance test.

•         Effectively communicate test status, schedule, and issues to
project teams.

•         Create and update performance scripts as needed.

•         Make technical and process improvement recommendations.

•         Drive completion of tuning recommendation tasks across affected
groups.



*Minimum Requirements:*

•         Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a
related study, or equivalent experience.

*Knowledge/Skills Required:*

•         Two or more years experience leading project teams and/or sub
teams.

•         Solid understanding of software implementation approaches and
quality assurance processes.

•         Ability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
through both formal and on-the-job self training.

•         Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and
non-technical audiences.

•         Ability to plan and direct many activities at once: keeping 3-5
projects moving forward, proactively anticipating and addressing issues, and
implementing solutions.

•         Experience using HP Load Runner preferred.

•         Knowledge of ecommerce, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA),
and/or Oracle eBusiness Suite a plus.
