Here's the Job Description Start Date: 8-22-2011 End Date: 8-21-2012 Duration: 1 Years No. of Positions: 4 Required Skills: Java Level: Advanced J2EE Level: Advanced EJB3 Level: Advanced Websphere Level: Advanced OOAD Level: Advanced XML Level: Advanced SOAP Level: Advanced Use Cases Level: Advanced JUnit Level: Proficient UNIX Level: Proficient Airline Level: Proficient Description: Complete Description: Senior Specialty Java Developer to work on a server-based application that will take input from a Websphere MQ queue, apply defined rules against the list of people and seat maps in the request, determine best seat assignments and produce results to a response queue. Optimization of the transactions is very important. Experience in managing through-put and logical processes will be a desired skill set. Potentially may involve a Rules Engine and Workflow Engine product for decision processing and workflow management. Some exposure/understanding in OR Optimization Techniques is desirable. Essential Responsibilities*: • Understand business requirements in order to provide the technical design of computer software. • Possess programming expertise in Java J2EE in order to develop and maintain the project’s computer software. • Develop appropriate software and documentation according to IT standards. • Support and troubleshoot computer software as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems. • Follow IT standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software. *May perform other duties as assigned. Basic Entry Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field. Previous Airline Experience Ideal. • Ability to work within a team environment. • Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus. JOB SPECIFIC: • Dedication – Involves demonstrating a desire to dedicate time and energy to accomplish goals, tasks, assignments, etc. Will do what it takes to get things done. • Knowledge of Software Development – Involves knowing the general approach to developing software including practice, concepts, technology, and methodology obtained through formal training and/or work experience. • Problem Solving – Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probes all fruitful sources for answers, can see hidden problems, is excellent at honest analysis, looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answer. • Programming Ability – Ability to effectively write code (e.g., in one or more languages) in order to develop effective and efficient solutions to computing needs. • Solution Oriented – Maintains a positive attitude oriented towards coming up with solutions and developing new approaches, doesn’t let distractions get in the way, isn’t overwhelmed with problems/issues. • Java Message Driven Beans (MDB) – Project is expecting to utilize MQ, JMS and MDB to handle events that require handling by the application that resides on a Unix Server.
