F5 Load Balance Engineer
Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ Duration: 3 Months Important Skills : Looking for a Network F5 specialist that can do the following: Configure the F5 for most of it's capabilities( Load Balancing for Applications- SAP ESS specifically) Have a VG knowledge of the F5 Internals for trouble shooting and problem resolution Able to use the F5 for Web Acceleration SSL off loading Have strong Network background with LTM, Have worked with model 6800 10.3 Job Description: The applicant needs to demonstrate mastery in the below categories with focus on application delivery. Understand of Web Applications is required. F5 - Load Balancers / Local Traffic Manager / Global Traffic Manager. Strong understand of SAP landscape (Netweaver / portals) is a PLUS. Requirement: In depth engineering experience on F5 load balancers, including an understanding of routing and switching protocols with the relation to the load balancer landscape (Ex: STP, BGP, OSPF, TCP, SSL, TLS), and application layer protocols including HTTP, SSH, SSL, and DNS. Applicant must have an understanding of load balancing strategies/ techniques, expertise in application switching / traffic management, knowledge of persistence and SSL certificates. Needs experience on F5 versions v10.X. Applicant needs to be able to complete basic configurations on the F5, including OS upgrades, Trunking, and general troubleshooting of the devices. Advanced skills of designing, coding, and troubleshooting iRules and iControls are required. A high degree of F5 experience is required for this position. Must be able to understand HTTP & HTTPS predicted behavior as well as read the packet content to create or modify custom settings on such behavior. Understanding of the generic and the ability to create custom monitors is a must. 8-10 years experience in web traffic support and implementation. Must have a strong understand Web traffic load balancing function and manipulation procedures. Along with sizing and capacity planning based on a hig availability or DR design. Service oriented Architecture and Web services design experience is a bug plus. Strong understanding of the Web Accelerator module as well as able to understand when to apply specific WEBACC profiles to the proper landscape. Strong understanding of the Application Security Module (ASM) technology.. Be able to create custom security perimeters within ASM around the dependencies of the application flow. Strong understanding of the different load balancing options & features to include OneConnect, Persistences, SSL offload functions, HTTP profiles, etc.. Must have strong understanding of the Global Traffic Manager and Iquery functionality between LTM & GTM for a HA design. Web Servers In depth knowledge and hands on experience working with web servers, including the understanding of the various web protocols. The ability to explain how the web server works, describe the settings in the main configuration files, describe how the certificates work on the web server, and describe SSL termination and handshakes with load balancers and application servers Solaris 10 and Windows Web server - includes installation, upgrades, configuration, tuning, creating virtual instances, managing SSL certs, troubleshooting problems including core file analysis. Apache administration & concepts - includes installation, upgrades, configuration, tuning, managing SSL certs, troubleshooting problems. Understanding of the various modules and its benefits. Automating routine tasks such as startup / shutdown and log management. Additional desired knowledge in Sun N1, IBM Rational Clear Case, Solaris, Linux Red Hat 4.X, scripting ability in Perl and/or shell, XML. Web Development: UNIX, Web Development: Perl, Analysis Skills: UML Network: 8-10 years strong experience of L2 technologies. 8-10 years strong experience L3 routing protocols. 8-10 years strong experience TCP/IP. 5 years strong security experience. Applicant needs great attention to detail when creating install guides and standards for the various environments. The applicant needs excellent verbal and written communication skills when supporting the different technologies in Dev, QA, preproduction, and when assisting the production support group. Knowledge of additional competitive technologies is desired. Must be able to create detailed Visio diagrams to illustrate the design topology as well as be able to be self paced to get things done in a very fast paced environment. . Primary Responsibilities: -Follow test standards and procedures under general supervision. - Performs system testing of new products, as well as new releases of existing products. - Contributes to the documentation of test results. - Helps analyze test results to ensure existing functionality. - Participates in project scope and estimating. - Provide detailed updates to project plan. - Responsibilities: Create Network Documentation (SOP, diagrams, etc.) to Support Project. - Management of execution of tasks within the change management process. - Flexible schedule based on the project deliverables.
