Overview:
The Linux System Administrator will create, administer, integrate,
support, and maintain Redhat Linux based environment. The Red Hat
Linux administrator will be working with a security Architect to
secure/shore up Linux vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
2. Must have 2-3 yrs of RedHat Linux administrations skills in
an enterprise environment including:
a. Plan and implement system changes and adjustments in a way
that maximizes system availability
i. Evaluating
and reporting system performance-PATCH MGMT SME IS A MUST
1. Assistance in developing test plans, gathering performance
data during testing and analysis of results to assist in developing a
production architecture for the application.
2. perform configuration management, risk analysis and
contingency planning and work with designated security staff to assist
in performing security reviews and audits.
ii. Ensuring
hardware limits are not exceeded
iii. Performing
system configuration tasks
iv. Performing
documentation tasks
b. Ensuring proactive management and quality assurance
c. Processing and resolving customer support service requests
3. Providing ongoing support and administration of Linux servers
and applications that reside on those servers :
a. User management
b. Patching
c. Network configuration
d. Performance tuning
e. Participate in product deployments, upgrades & maintenance.
f. Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches
on all systems.
g. Support third party applications on products used in support
of corporate mission critical systems.
4. Preferred Current Certifications:
a. Red Hat Certified Systems Admin (RHCSA) certified
5. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the
organization.
