IBM WebSphere Portal / WCM Technical Architect

*Job Responsibilities*

.     Responsible for working closely with the business to understand
requirements and advise on technical solutions and feasibility.

.     S/he will be the resident expert in IBM WebSphere Portal, Web Content
Management (WCM) and Application Server technologies. (Ideally both v6.x and
v7.x).

.     S/he will work closely with Business and Development teams to
architect, design, build and delivery solutions to production.

.     S/he will work on one or more projects involving new Portal / WCM
Development as well as upgrading the existing Portal from IBM Portal /WCM
6.0 to 7.x.

.     S/he will be the resident IBM Portal / WCM technical expert on a
project/release team; responsible for the technical success of a project or
group of projects.

.     S/he will have the ultimate ownership of escalated issues, decision
between competing solutions and arbitration between project teams in a
release.

.     S/he may be involved in mentoring teams on design and coding best
practices, portlet design, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and reuse
opportunities.

.     S/he will work with the Architecture and Strategy teams within Kaiser
to research new technology and development approaches and create best
practices around them.

.     S/he will advise on optimal work breakdown to allow releases and
projects to take advantage of reuse, standard designs/frameworks and SOA.

.     S/he will provide assistance with, and review of, the load testing
team's test plans and test cases to ensure early and appropriate load
testing is done.

.     S/he will work with project Technical Leads to identify critical/new
components for early performance profiling or load testing.

.     S/he will ensure that release conforms to all security standards and
other non-functional requirements.

.     S/he will create, socializes and mentors the use of design and coding
best practices and standards.

.     S/he will have experience with Linux , AIX and IBM Technologies for
software development, Portal, Web Content Management  and particularly
WebSphere Portal, and migration of traditional J2EE web sites to a
Portal/SOA based architecture.

.     S/he will follow change management and incident procedures and
policies at Kaiser IT.


*Basic Qualifications *

.     Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems,
or equivalent combination of education and experience.

.     15 overall years of experience developing and supporting large
applications using various tools and technologies.

.     12 years of experience in IT/OO design/development/architecture with
Java/J2EE Design and Development.

.     10 years of experience with Portal Technology Architecture, Design,
Development and Best Practices.

.     6 years of experience with IBM WebSphere Portal or WebSphere Content
Management (WCM). Extensive Portal/WCM version 5.1/6.X experience required,

with preference of 6.1.X and 7.X preferred with both development and
administrative experience.

.     4+ years of hands on experience in JSR 168 and JSR 286 Compliant,
Portlet design and development, preferably in an IBM portal environment.

.     Expertise in XMLAccess, Syndication, Web Content Integrator (WCI) and
other mechanisms for migrating configuration and content between portal
systems.

.     4+ years hands on experience in developing Templates, Workflows and
Customizations for IBM WebSphere Content Management System.

.     Strong experience with Java, J2EE web application design, development
of servlets, jsps, JSTL and good understanding of MVC framework - minimum 4
years.



Preferred Qualifications

.     Experience with IBM WebSphere Portal 7 and WCM 7.

.     Experience upgrading from Portal /WCM 6.0+ to Portal/WCM 6.1.5 or 7.0

.     Experience working with IBM Technical Support.

.     Expertise in DB2 Performance Tuning.

.     JSF/Spring/Hibernate with Portal

.     JSR 168/286 and WSRP.

.     SOAP/Web Services/WS-I.

.     Web Application Security and single sign on technologies.

.     Rational Application Developer or Eclipse.

.     Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

.     Strong ability to lead and work as part of a team.

.     Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills.

.     Working with offshore resources.
