*Subject:** **Sr. Windows Administrator *** *Location: Falls Church, VA *** *Duration: 3-6 month w/option for additional time * *Rate: market* *Overview:* The MS Windows administrator will be responsible for installing, tuning and optimizing & supporting, and Windows server systems, network connections in support of business processing requirements .This position will require the ability to install, migrate & consolidate enterprise server environments with storage, application migration, platform consolidation, server refresh, capacity management, and resiliency, etc. *Job Requirements* 1. Must have 3-5 yrs Enterprise experience with Windows Server Platform: 2008 R2 systems design, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and support including: a. Tests software updates and patches. b. Monitor, Optimize & tune the system to achieve performance levels in standalone and multi-tiered environments. i. Active Directory Access Protocols (LDAP) ii. Replication iii. Object Health Checking c. Conducts system analysis, configuration management and develops improvements for system software performance, availability and reliability. d. Ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. e. Prescribes system backup / disaster recovery procedures and directs recovery operations in the event of destruction of all or part of the operating system or other system components. Implements appropriate levels of system security. 2. Must be able to analyze and implement OS patches and hot fixes as well as other OS configurations and updates. 3. Must possess an understanding of networking technology and expertise in DNS, WINS, and DHCP. 4. Must possess familiarity and experience with server hardware, firmware, BIOS, RAID, server backups, and server security. 5. Scripting skills (Powershell, WMI, VBScript, ADSI, DOS shell) 6. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. 7. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective communicator (sales oriented in approach). 8.
