Description
We are looking for a senior-level PHP developer, with extensive experience
in both designing and implementing successful web-scale applications.
You must have deep knowledge of web technologies and methodologies, starting
with HTTP protocol and going all the way to SQL query optimization and
refactoring application code and infrastructure for performance and
scalability.
You will play a key role in helping lead our development efforts and
building our application portfolio.
You must be flexible and able to thrive within a dynamic, fast-paced
environment while adhering to our processes and policies.
About the application:
The application is written in Symfony 1.4 with Doctrine (with some remaining
Symfony 1.0/Propel code) in PHP5, with some auxiliary components written in
PERL, Ruby and BASH.
The application stack utilizes following technologies (so you must have at
least some experience with them to be considered):
MySQL 5.1
MongoDB 1.8
nginx
memcache
gearman
Ubuntu 9/10/11 and CentOS linux
Amazon Web Services
git
Subversion
OAuth 1 and 2 (client-side)
Skills required:
5+ years experience with OO PHP
Experience with an MVC framework (preferably Symfony 1.4)
Experience with JSON and Ajax
Thorough understanding of Social Networking and Web 2.0 technologies
Extensive experience building and working with internal and external REST
API's
Strong experience with MySQL
Ability to work in a small team and build consensus with colleagues
Not required, but preferred:
Knowledge of Linux system administration
Experience with RightScale
Experience with JavaScript
Experience working with Facebook, Twitter and Google API's
Experience with SMS technologies
