Here's the Job Description Position: Programmer Analyst Location Chester, VA Required Seeking an experienced and highly skilled developer to support electronic messaging amd web development for the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services. Candidates will be responsible for providing technical and operational support for web services and electronic data exchange. Duties include expansion of the laboratory's electronic messaging capabilities to its many public health partners; developing, testing, and implementing complex and highly customized user interfaces using HL7 messaging specifications and nationally adopted data and technology standards and web development. Selected candidate should be highly proficient in PL/SQL and have an understanding of relational database design as well as experience in GUI development using Code Generators products, and using message broker software. Knowledge of web services, C#, JavaScript, and .NET are required. Experience with XML technology; MS Office products including MS-Project, and Java is considered a plus. Knowledge of data mapping and integration tools, preferably with Orion Rhapsody; messaging standards (especially HL7), and public health informatics. Must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, and test complex issues regarding web services and electornic exchange of data with other public health partners. Selected candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be project and task oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Degree from an accredited college or university with major study in Computer Science, IS, or related field preferred.
