Please go through the job description and let me know your interest.** * * *Teradata DBA* *Location: Plano, TX* *Duration: 3 Months* * * *Job Description:* The right candidate will have experience installing and configuring software applications, reading release notes, managing an operating system and database(s) enough to perform these tasks, etc. For example, ETL skills are really limited to understanding how to kick off an ETL job to pull data from one environment to another. · As these are COTS packages, generally there will be no source code management or builds required, other than understanding versions and releases well enough to see the differences in a major and minor release, significance of the release numbers, etc. The candidate might be called upon to compare the code release with a specific version in SCM to understand what was changed, for example, but someone with general understanding of any version control should be able to pick that up. · Performance tuning involvement would be restricted to tasks as assistant to the DBA who is doing the primary tuning. The candidate would understand enough about the application and its underlying database to for example execute queries by request of the DBA and as a bonus offer insights into areas of concern, but this would be an add-on skill set.
