Duration - long term Role : Release Engineer Description The purpose of this position is to support and improve the build and deployment procedures, support the source code management system and to coordinate application builds to non production and production environments. The Release Engineer will also coordinate source code checkin and checkout, ensure proper configuration is applied to application builds and releases and verify the build before handing off to the next stage in SDLC. Maintain a Master Source Code Repository: Responsible for administering and maintaining the Software Change and Configuration Management(SCCM) system and assisting/training the development group in understanding and using the system. Setup and maintain a unified build automation for all applications: The Release Engineer will be required to develop and test build scripts in Unix and Windows environments to automate the compilation of a wide range of technologies such as: DotNet, C/C++, Java, Tibco, and others. These scripts must be designed and developed to run in various development, test and production environments in an automated manner as well as deploy and restart/reinstate necessary services for the application changes to take effect. Work with Development, QA and Systems teams on the build and promotion processes. Conduct coordinate build promotions: The Release Engineer is responsible for promoting application builds within the non-production environments in support of the various testing phases. The Release Engineer is also responsible forcoordinating and processing manual software package migrations, understanding and integrating with the Qualifications BS degree, with a Computer Science or a MIS major or comparable At least 5 years of experience with Build and Deployment automation Experience with UNIX, Perl and Windows shell scripting and using Unix tools such as sed, grep Regular expression constructs Knowledge of scripting within environments such as NT CMD Shell, Korn Shell, MKS, etc. Knowledge of build technologies: MSBuild, Make / NMAKE / Imake / Ant / NAnt Exposure to TCP/IP fundamentals and Public/Private key authentication supporting SSH, SFTP, and SCP Experience with documentation and clear commenting of any complex scripting methods Experience with at least one SCCM toolset such as Accurev, Clearcase, CVS, SCCS, Subversion or similar. Source control and version management administration.
