Position: Senior Cognos Developer Duration:- 720 hours (5 Months) Location:- Vernon Hills IL Rate: $50-$52/Hr Max Interview:- Face to Face ****** LOCAL OR NEARBY TO VERNON HILLS, IL CONSULTANT AS DIRECT FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW IS REQUIRED ****** As a Sr. Cognos Developer , you will be responsible for the Analysis, Design & Development, Testing, and implementation of various Business Intelligence Reporting initiatives, supporting the Supply Chain Organization. Responsibilities may include; report/portal development, Supply Chain reporting, user training, etc. Although the primary role of this position is to develop/deliver reporting, this individual will also be responsible for migration of 8.3 reports to 8.4. This individual must have the proven ability to architect, manage, administer, develop and support reporting using the complete Cognos 8.4 toolset (Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Powerplay Transformer, and Powerplay Studio). This individual should additionally be able to understand and work with relational databases. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: . This individual should have experience using the Cognos 8.4 suite of products including Framework, Transformer, Report Studio and Powerplay Web. . Responsibilities including but not limited to; requirements gathering and documentation, testing, and simple estimating and timelines . Selected candidate will be able to identify, analyze, develop, and document requirements in accordance with client's Standards, processes, and methodologies. . Individual should be able to lead and facilitate small to mid-size groups to achieve project objectives. . Must have the ability to develop strong relationships with our business partners. . Provide production support for the reporting and analytic environment including; Trouble-shooting of reports, new user setup, data inquiries, and ad-hoc requests Skills/Experience Requirements Basic Qualifications: . Must have at least 4-8 years of Cognos development experience including proven experience with Report Studio, Framework, and Transformer . Must have 4-6 years of business systems analysis, testing, development, and support experience with proven track record. . Must have strong problem solving, verbal and written communication, and analytical skills. . Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills. . Knowledge of relational databases within a Data Warehouse environment. Experience working in a data warehouse environment is a plus. . Experience working with portals in a web-based reporting environment . Experience using Oracle, TOAD, SQL Plus. . Web Development is a plus .
